When we took to the drawing board to design the Cambee Flex, we knew 3 things for certain: our bed would prioritise comfort, it wouldn't weigh a ton and it would need to be pull tested to M1 standards.
What we didn't know, was that with targeted solutions to a handful of other common R & R defects, our creation would, in no time flat, become our best seller.

Designed to roll out into a 4’ x 6’3” bed, the ¾ width Flex-118 is our go-to for conversions requiring a little more storage space. It leaves a big enough gap for full length cabinets, like the Cambee “Classic” units or a flexible through-space for bikes, baggage or oversized items.
Built as standard with 2 integral 3-point seat belts, middle lap belts can be added for occasional passengers.
Weighing only 65.5kg, including upholstery, this is the lightest R & R on the market, increasing your carrying capacity and cutting fuel consumption.

Our 3-seater Flex-156 is Cambee’s king-sized R&R, offering 5’2” x 6,3” of sleeping space. It’s ideal for a van with more full-time passengers to board, with 3 integral 3-point seat belts, or simply for those who like room to stretch in their lie-ins.
Still weighing only 87.3kg, including upholstery, it leaves you with far greater carrying capacity.

Living up to its name, our bed is also flexible enough to suit a host of mid-sized vans like the VW T4, Vauxhall Vivaro or Renault Trafic.
With a fresh look at the the practical need of the R&R bed, we spent a good 12 months head scratching as we planned improvements to the popular models. Building mockups and test jigs, putting our finished results through pull tests, scratching our heads some more, we finally came up with the Cambee range of beds and accessories.
An obvious starting point, safety was the first thing we turned our minds to, with the bright idea of bringing car seat ergonomics to the bed with a short base and tall back, as found in regular car seats.
Designed to absorb impact force, the Flex deforms and reduces the shock through both the passenger and vehicle chassis. Our lightweight frame also features integral three-point seat belts and has been pull tested to M1 standards.

A campervan is just another home that you travel in, so we want your R&R bed to be every bit as comfortable as your mattress at home.
We’ve thoroughly tested our 75mm thick foam, plus offer softer and harder foams (including memory foam) so you won’t have the bother of fitting and storing a mattress topper. The foam surface remains face-up for both seat and bed, ensuring you’re comfortably cushioned both day and night.
Comfort has also played a leading role in our seat ergonomics. With a tall back-rest and short seat (based on the T5 front seat specs), it offers great support for both kids and adults out on the road.

Our track system offers flexible positioning, allowing passengers to sit directly behind the cab and additional clip-in seating to offer a grand total of 8 belted seats.
An optional, easy-fit sub-frame allows the bed to be unbolted for quick removal and refitting, a huge bonus if you regularly need to transport large items. Utilising the same chassis cross-member fixing points Volkswagen use for their factory fitted seats, this gives safe and quick fitting to the vehicle shell.
A valuable commodity in a camper, space was another of the fundamentals on our sketch pad.
Our bed leaves a large, unobstructed through space, allowing surfboards and kayaks to be stored under the seat frame. The rear panel (or “parcel shelf”) also folds up and is detachable, allowing bikes and other large items to be transported in the rear area.
If you haven’t touched a board in your life and don’t intend to start now, these spaces can be used for large removable storage drawers, Porta Pottis, or simply more breathing space.
True to form, the specially adapted Cambee table is another space saver, locked safely out of the way in the rear of the seat.
When every kg fitted reduces your carrying capacity, we found it important that our bed took a load off.
At only 87.3 kg for the Flex-156 and 65.5 kg for the Flex-118, the Cambee bed ups your vehicle weight allowance for people and gear.

With a single-action lift and slide operation, our bed deploys in seconds. Undo safety lock, lift the front of the seat panel and pull forward to convert.
Returning to a seat mode is just a simple by pulling on the lift strap and pushing the base back to closed position.
Our optional easyfit subframe (Fitted as standard in our full conversions) takes the guesswork out of bed fitting. Simply attach the subframe to the strapping points in the the back of the van, mark, and drill with complete confidence. Your bolts will now be locating to the same fixing points VW use for fitting their seats and track systems. Included in the kit, our chassis cross member ensures the safest possible fitting of your bed.
Our beds are fully customizable with a wide range of fabrics and pattern choices to chose from. We are also happy to upholster your bed with fabric you have supplied, convenient if you would like us to ship the bed to you for self fitting.
