The Government’s guidelines on camping during the continued lockdown are clear – overnight camping is not yet permitted and campsites up and down the country remain closed. However, if you’re sitting there with a beautifully converted camper you can’t currently take off in, don’t despair. Team Cambee have pulled together our favourite ways to make use of your house on wheels until adventure comes back calling.
Whilst we might not be able to stay over yet, your camper is the perfect social distancing tool for getting some great outdoor time. Gather up your essentials, some tasty nibbles and find a quiet spot for lunch out. Remember to follow all relevant government stipulations and act responsibly.
If you are still home schooling, you could turn your van into a makeshift classroom. Taking the lessons out of the home and into a new environment may stimulate some new focus and creativity for everyone.

Alternatively, unfold that table, get the kids in there with a box of arts and crafts goodies and let their imaginations run wild. A great way to break up your home schooling routine and to give the kids a change of scenery.
Grab your cosiest cushions and blankets, some classic snacks and drinks and set up a laptop or mini projector to stream your favourite film in the comfort of your own van.
With bars and restaurants still closed, it’s hard to make some quality time to spend together. Why not turn your van into your favourite restaurant or late night spot, dress up in your finery, order that takeaway and create a little romance on the driveway!
Campsites may be a no go but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a micro adventure in the garden. Fill the van with your overnight essentials, some delicious breakfast treats and spend a night in the great indoors. The kids will love it!
Better yet, make use of your van to get the whole family ready for future adventures. Campervan friendly cooking, safe fire building, star spotting, map reading, whatever you can think of. Simply being in your van brings a sense of adventure and creates the perfect space to learn new skills to set you up for the next van trip – big or small!
Did we miss anything? We’d love to hear about the creative and wonderful ways you’re getting use out of your campervan at the moment. Drop us a message on Facebook or Instagram or tag @cambee_campervans so that we can see.
