Camper Van Interior Ideas

Cambee inspiration for fabrics and colours inside your campervan

Get The Cambee Camper Look

Where to begin?

Getting the inside of your camper van right can sometimes seem daunting but with a bit of time you can put together fabrics and colours that really suit you and your van.

A great starting point is to choose the curtain fabric or a favourite object that is going to feature in your camper, like a teapot or set of crockery.

Curtains are the most popular starting point as they usually have colours and patterns for inspiration and it’s much easier to match your other choices to your chosen design. See below a good example of campervan interiors drawing on the curtain fabric, and using the colours elsewhere in the conversion.

Campervan Curtains

Finding inspiration in a great fabric is an excellent place to begin building the vision of your dream camper. We often use the suppliers below to get ideas and boost our creativity.

And if you want a fully bespoke fabric, then why not design your own at Spoonflower?

Camper Bed Design

  • The Comfort is our standard design model giving affordability, style and comfort. Available in any of our 6 standard colours or, with a fabric upgrade, a wide range of plain or patterned upholstery fabrics and vinyls.
  • The Tourer offers a more sculpted car seat look. Carefully designed for maximum comfort whilst travelling and sleeping. The Tourer features a combination of foam layers whilst maintaining a flat sleeping platform.
  • With our Custom model, you can really go to town on panel and stitching design details. All fabric upgrade options can be applied, or you could choose from available VW upholstery colours. Leather is also an option with this model.

Bed Fabric

Our beds are upholstered in seven shades of Musa from Danilo Lucchi, although other colours in this range are also available, and the options for a more personal upholstery fabric are almost endless.

If you’re looking to match an existing VW fabric most are available to order, including the Westfalia fabric.

If you’re looking for leather, the Futura Birch within ‘The Collection’ range is our normal choice, although some other ranges are also suitable.

For something completely bespoke, to match your curtains perhaps, Romo Linara is a very popular fabric and available in 360 colours!

Kirkby offer the Dakota Faux Suede collection which is a plush but practical way to finish your van.

Worktops & Doors

Our starting point for worktops and table tops is Dark Tweed Brocade, with a choice of six colours for your unit doors, but there is an almost unlimited range of colours for the more adventurous.

The laminate for the worktop and doors mostly comes from Formica and Polyrey. There are other smaller suppliers but there is a pretty big range from these two, and you can order samples from both websites.

For the worktop it is advisable to choose something with a pattern or textured surface as plain colour flat surfaces tend to get scratched over time during normal use.

Lining

You can have your panels lined with carpet; match/contrast with your bed fabric; or go for a simple low maintenance covering like pinhole.

Flooring

Popular choices for a hardwearing, practical and smart floor are Altro Walkway, Altro Wood and Altro Orchestra vinyls, as well as natural Marmoleum linoleum, which all deliver a tough finish and variety of colours.

If you find something else that you love, we are happy to fit another material, provided that it is suitable for the job in hand. Please be sure to contact us to discuss your choice before committing to a purchase.
