The Grand Tour Kit

An economical way of scoring the top specs of our Grand Tour model

If you’re looking for maximum choice and a high spec camper, the GT might be for you. You will need to enjoy DIY projects, however, to attempt this bare bones ply and formica kit, requiring sanding, assembly and varnishing before you start on the fit.

With thousands of laminates; Formica, Polyrey and others to choose from, getting the individual colour and finish you’re looking for isn’t a problem with the GT. Just get in touch for a basic range of options or go through the Formica, Polyrey or Abet websites to order your samples

We’ve made construction as simple as architecturally possible for this flat-pack kit, with just masking tape, PVA glue and a flat surface required for assembly. Still, you won’t get it built without a little chin stroking, as there are quite a few components that go into the construction.

The extra effort will pay off – this setup provides room for the mothers of all campervan appliances: 240 hook up, 60L of 3 Way or 90l 12v refrigeration and room for a 25 L in-built fresh water container and more cupboard space than you can shake a frying pan at.

What’s in the kit?

Birch ply cabinet components
Formica doors, worktop and table kit in custom colours
Overhead lockers and appliances supplied at an additional cost

Build time – 30-40 hrs
Fitting time – 20-30hrs

Constructed of birch ply and formica, even if your budget won’t stretch to the appliances for now, there’s still plenty going for the GT kit. We chose birch for our units not only for its look but because it’s tough enough to last 25 years plus (as proven by the earliest Westfalia split screen conversions) and when the finish has been thoroughly used, surfaces can simply be sanded down and revarnished.

Using CNC technology and tongue-and-groove construction, each kit has been built to withstand the knocks and spills of campervan life. They’re also guaranteed to fit perfectly and smoothly, and being a combination of 9 and 12mm birch, leave the maximum space possible available for use.

Complete custom colour – for this model alone we offer an infinite range of Formica door colours, besides several cabinet finishes at various prices. Contact us for a sample pack or full price list and for further details.
